As more brands embrace and adopt regenerative agriculture, they need to communicate to consumers just why their practices are better and perhaps worth paying more for. Similar to other standards, like organic, regenerative agriculture is difficult for consumers to understand.

We explored the concept of regenerative agriculture amongst a group of 25 health-conscious, natural-leaning consumers across the USA. Our qualitative research, conducted in late 2019, had us shopping-along with consumers inside grocery stores, having a look inside their pantries and refrigerators inside their homes and virtually interviewing some others. The outcome of our study includes understanding consumer perceptions of the term, “regenerative agriculture,” and most importantly, how brands can most effectively tell their regenerative journeys with consumers.

Our new report, Consumer Perceptions of Regenerative Agriculture, is for any brand that engages in regenerative agriculture and are looking to leverage their regenerative approach to further stand out from competition amongst health-conscious American shoppers.


ABOUT OUR RESEARCH

Methodology: Qualitative research across three markets (San Francisco, Boston, and Washington, DC) in the form of 25 shopper interviews conducted via shop-alongs inside grocery stores, in-home ethnographies, or interviews conducted virtually.

Timing: Study fielded in late 2019.

Deliverable: One report + one-hour live virtual presentation. Each in-depth report will include a 15-page document (in PowerPoint) and focus on the following content:

  • Five consumer insights - what we learned from consumers while interviewing them.

  • 15 direct consumer quotes about regenerative agriculture, giving you a deeper understanding of American consumers’ awareness and how to best meet their expectations.

  • Five recommendations on how to best connect with American consumers while emphasizing your regenerative journey.

Each live, one-hour presentation, conducted virtually, will focus on presenting our report’s findings. and brainstorming next steps your brand can take to leverage the insights and recommendations from our report.
